Video Games Vs Movies The Problem With Hollywood Is Getting People Into The Cinema

Video games vs movies, is this valid? There is no debate when considering that the video game industry has taken a big part of the movie industry. As video games become more and more like movies the more competition Hollywood will be facing. Have we seen the last of the the sliver screens days?

Is Hollywood doomed to go under? What do you like more? Video games vs movies? Video games give you a sense of power. Games like Call Of Duty Modern Warfare make you feel like your own movie hero saving the world from the bad guys. You become immersed in the Video game story, and you control it. Its hard for me to not get sucked into the feeling of power and excitement that a video game gives me?

Since good games offers a player hundreds of hours of potential game play the movie industry can not get these people into the theaters.

But all is not lost for the movies. When movies came out way back, people thought that would be the end of reading. Over sixty years ago, when the boob tube, TV, came out people again thought that would be the end of movies. Once more when the nasty video game hit the market, yes people thought that would be the end of TV.

The Apocalypse never happened. Why? The more people have the more people want, that's how simple it is. That's why Mall developers try and cram in as many stores as possible, and if another mall opens in the same area, that's great! More stores means more costumers.

Video games vs movies, is this comparison possible? Not really. They are two different things. One is active, one is passive.

I believe that each give us different experiences, for different times of day or moods. I don't like being active all of the time. Playing video games is becoming like sports. Traditionally movies are passive experiences, the light is reflected from the movie screen into your eyes, like the moon light. Movies are a chance to sit back relax and enjoy a story, like in the days of yore when we would sit under the moon light and tell a story. Sometimes I want to be a winner, a hero, the best I can be, that is what a video game gives me.

So what is the problem? Getting people into the theaters. How do they do this? By creating gimmicks like real 3D, or combining the film concept with a video game release. It is true that their might be less and less movie goers, but now we do not even have to leave the comfort of our home with VOD. Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is one of the best movie style video games of all time.
